Do I have to be able to speak French?
No, some of our English members speak very little or no French, and some of our French members speak very little or no English! but we have French conversation groups which you can join if you wish
How much does the trip to France cost?
The cost varies from year to year but it is certainly cheaper than making your own way to Brittany because the association gets a discount for its coach
How much is membership?
Individual membership is £7.50 a year; family and corporate membership is £15 annually
Would I/we stay with different people each time?
As a general rule, we exchange with the same families each year - but it isn't obligatory!
How often do the trips occur?
Each year - our Association organises an annual visit to Plestin and we also host the Plestinais each year
Can I take children?
Families with children are especially welcome on our twinning exchanges and some of the children who joined the visits in the early years are now members of twinning themselves.
Where exactly is Plestin-les-Greves?
Plestin-les-Grèves is a resort and small market town located on the North coast of Brittany.
How long does it take to get there?
After the ferry crossing from Plymouth to Roscoff, the car journey to Plestin takes 40 minutes.
What else does the Launceston Twinning Association do apart from the annual exchanges?
There is varied social programme (see our News page to find out what's on) and twinners can join in as many activities as they wish.

No, we are an independent organisation with our members organising events and raising funds.
